In our last episode, I shared part 1 of my journey of becoming a millionaire

If you haven't been able to listen to that yet, click here to check it out.

My intention is to share with you my story so that you can see that incredible things can happen to ordinary people - if you put the work, the time, and the effort behind it.

Video Version:

One of my biggest reasons for this goal...

A huge reason for why I wanted to become a millionaire is because I have kids.

I want my son and my daughter to look no further than the front door.

Meaning their role models can be mom and dad.

I want to be able to provide them with opportunities that weren't provided to me.

I know I am who I am because of my life experiences...

But I also wonder how my life could have been if I was taught on how to invest financially.

Either way, I really want to give my kids that opportunity.

If they want to travel the world after college, or start a business... I want to be able to fund it.

Giving back to the community

God willing, we will be able to give back to our church and community more and more each year.

Having money allows you to be more charitable.

My mom always instilled in us to give to our church.... sometimes it was only 50 cents or $1.

It was an incredible principle to learn: give what you can.

As my bank account started to grow, I was able to keep growing how much I was able to give.

And it feels good!

Your mindset about "things" change

In my experience, I found when I was broke I was always saying...

"Wow I want a Rolex watch. I want that Lamborghini"

Yes we now live a nice house...

But it went a long time before we got it even though we could afford it.

I just couldn't bring myself to do it. Even though I could afford it!

Because in my mind...

That same money could be spent in a stock. On the business. On something that I could potentially get a return of my investment.

This was the opposite of what I thought would be my mentality....

I thought as SOON as I got that money I would be looking to spend it.

But once you get it, you know what it took to get there - all of that hard work - and it makes you not want to spend it superficially.

It wasn't until I had all of my debt paid off that I even wanted to start looking at fancy cars.

I recently got a Ferrari...

And I knew when I finally got to drive one, I didn't want to be "faking" it.

Meaning... I didn't want to do it just for show.

I wanted to own it without any debt. My lifestyle is not a front.

A million doesn't solve all the problems

Money can be lost so easily.

A million isn't as much as you think it is when you don't have it... And thats not to say it isn't a lot.

When you keep reaching your goals and your next level financially, you can see where you need to take caution because it can go so easily.

And just because you have money, it doesn't mean your problems go away.

It all comes with balance and responsibility and respect.

I want to bring people up who thought this was never possible

I am here to tell you: it IS possible.

If I can do it, and put in the work... you have the potential to do it, too.

I am just a kid from Detroit, bars on the windows, single-parent household...

ANYBODY can do this.

The deck was stacked against us, according to society.

You can eventually get there if you never give up.
