How Embracing Positivity and Being Kind to Yourself Can Transform Your Life
This episode is all about being kind to yourself. I've been through some pretty rough times myself - from having free samples be my only meal for the day to being jealous of those eating at fancy, outdoor restaurants. I share with you what helped me pull through these difficult moments and come out stronger than ever. Don't make permanent decisions based off of temporary situations. Take the time to tune in - you might really need to hear this.
Rediscovering the World Outside Your Computer
For many of us, especially those who work from home, it’s easy to forget that there’s a life going on outside our windows. Sometimes, I get so involved in shooting YouTube videos, editing, looking at stocks, and engaging with members that I forget it’s daylight outside. Despite the windows in my office, the outside world seems distant. However, getting out and walking around Birmingham, feeling the sun's warmth, and observing the hustle of everyday life has been a refreshing reminder that there's more to life than screens and stock markets.
The Struggles We Don’t See
Recently, I had a conversation with a friend who felt he's not where he should be in life. It’s easy to look at others and feel inadequate, especially in a world dominated by social media, where everyone seems to show only their best moments. But it's important to remember that these glimpses are often just a small, curated part of their lives.
When my friend confided in me, I advised him to be kind to himself. This world is already harsh enough. We constantly compare ourselves to others and forget to appreciate what we have. Remember, someone in prison would give anything to walk freely and enjoy simple pleasures like the sun on their face or choosing their meal.
The Power of Hope and Positivity
Another conversation that shook me was with a family member who felt overwhelmed by life’s challenges and contemplated ending it all. Life may be tough, but it's far from over. There’s always a chance to turn things around. We need to give ourselves the time, grace, and patience to navigate through our struggles.
Colonel Sanders didn’t start Kentucky Fried Chicken until he was 40, and it didn’t become successful until he was almost 60. Let that act as a reminder of not making permanent decisions based on temporary situations. It's never too late for it to turn around for you and you will never be stuck where you're at forever.
A Reminder from My Past
As I walk through Birmingham, Michigan, I am reminded of my past, where I came from, and the struggles I had to go through to get to where I am today. I share a personal story, that many may not have ever heard before. I invite you to tune in and be one of the few to hear how sometimes getting out of the house and being positive (even when it's just the opposite) can be the biggest thing for success.
