Exclusive Look at the Moment I Became Officially Debt-Free by Trading

I don’t know about you, but never in my wildest dreams did I think I’d pay off a 30 year mortgage in 2.5 years. I'm now officially debt-free.

No car payments.

No student loans.

And now...no mortgage.

All of the emotions I’ve felt in the last week have got me thinking back to my “why.”

Why I started teaching. 

Why I started my own business.

Why I started investing over 15 years ago.

More than just telling you, we thought we'd show you. This is an exclusive, behind-the-scenes look at the day I became officially debt-free.

I think back to 20 year old Jason that was working at a cell phone store. I think about having to move back in with my mom after college and always wanting more…

But never really thinking it would happen.

Growing up you have all of these dreams but you become an adult and realize just how hard it is to make them a reality. The bills start coming, the student loans pile up, and you feel like you’re just trying to keep your head above water.

I knew from an early age that I wanted to know what it felt like to be debt free. I didn’t want to owe anyone anything.

I was working overtime, trying to pick up odd jobs here and there but nothing was really helping to get me to where I wanted to be…

That’s when I decided to get serious about the stock market.

I was hungry.

I started doing my research and started absorbing as much information as I could. Was I overwhelmed? Yes.

But I didn’t let that stop me.

I kept pushing and I kept learning. I kept thinking about my goals and visualizing the future I wanted for myself and the family that I knew I wanted to start one day.

I wanted my future kids to know what it felt like to never have to struggle. I wanted to know that I could provide the best possible life for my family without having to worry about whether or not the bills could get paid until my next paycheck came in.

Becoming debt-free didn’t come over night for me.

Deciding to invest in the stock market was most definitely not a get-rich-quick scheme, but I started this journey with a long-term goal in mind.

I knew that one day, I wanted to be in the position that I’m in right now.

I can't even describe what what it felt like waking up that morning and knowing what I was about to become officially debt-free. Yeah, I was excited but more than anything I just felt proud.

My daughter was sitting in the kitchen, too young to even know what was about to happen, and I just couldn't stop smiling because of what I was about to do for my family.

Calling in to get the final pay-off balance made it all feel real.

But I knew that until I had the check in my hand and was walking through those doors to hand it over, it wouldn't be REAL real.

The day didn't come without some bumps in the road, though.

First I forgot my face covering when I walked into the bank.

Then a manager wasn't onsite to approve a withdrawal so large at the first bank.

The next bank? Told me the wire wouldn't transfer until the next day.

It was long process but when I tell you I was determined...I mean I was determined. This was happening.

And the next day...it did.

My wife and I drove to bank, I got my hands on the check, and it was time.

I was actually paying off a 30 year more mortgage in full.

I did it.

I'm not sharing this moment with you because I want to brag. It's not about that. Yeah, I paid off my mortgage and became debt-free but do you want to know why I'm really telling you all of this?

It's because I want to show you what's possible.

So many people go through life thinking that there's some huge secret to wealth and financial freedom. We grow up thinking that being rich is only reserved for celebrities, doctors, or corporate hotshots. To the most people, it's just an idea and it's an unattainable one.

A lot of people will watch this video and see where I'm at right now but what they won't see is all the times I went without.

I didn't get here overnight...

but I DID get here.

That's why I teach other people how to invest. I need people know they you don't have to come from a wealthy family or even have a four year degree to do this.

All you need is an eagerness to learn and a dream of something better.

That's what it's all about.
