Are You An A, B, Or C Student?
Sometimes I like to take a step away from the financial discussion and talk about mindset.
There is a saying that goes:
The B-students work for the C-students, and the A-students work for the C-students but manage the B-students.
Traditional education will make you a good living, but self education will make you a fortune.
How can you improve your self education skills? Let's talk about it.
You Graduated. What's Next?
So many people go to school to get their education and think they are done. They got their degree, they have their job... they made it.
We all need to go beyond what is taught in the books and develop additional skills for success, such as our social awareness and empathy. We can do this through self education.
Self education helps you become more aware of who you are as a person and what you can do to improve in your professional and personal life.
Education isn't the only important aspect of success - it's those additional qualities that can really bring you to the next level.
Applying This To The Real World
Just like the example I gave when interviewing candidates, we need to understand what qualities work for specific positions. A good manager may require a different skill set that doesn't always equal the required skills for a good salesperson.
When starting our self education journey, we should be mindful of our areas of improvement or what our weaknesses are for us to work on.
For those that are business owners, how are you growing as a person and company? In the areas you may have room for growth can be an opportunity to hire individuals to fulfill those roles.
Where Can You Start Your Journey Of Self Education?
Mindset books are a great place to start. Some of my favorites include:
You have to have a tough mindset, a work ethic, and that desire to study yourself and become who you need to be.
